Volume 14, Issue 2
A note from your newsletter editor. My apologies for the lateness of the newsletter this quarter. I was traveling the last of June and got caught up in the Newark United Airlines debacle you may have seen on the news. We were supposed to fly back to Greenville on Sunday, June 25 but were delayed in Newark but flew back to Charlotte on Wednesday, June 28. As you can imagine, I've been a bit tired and off schedule.

We had a request from DSS for blankets for the foster children. From a large donation of fleece, I was able to cut 12 blankets. With the generous donations from some of our members, I was able to deliver 10 quilts, 19 blankets, 10 pillowcases, and 13 pairs of socks for foster children in the Greenville area. Thanks to everyone who donated.

Greer Neighborhood Group Meeting
Greer neighborhood group is alive and well! Phyllis Costa demonstrated how to make a kitchen boa and we had a mystery meeting, where Joann Clauter showed how to do reverse paper piecing. Both were very interesting and we are ready to try each one! Our next meeting will be about sewing notions that we are very attached to. There is no meeting in July. Remember that we meet at the United Faith Methodist Church in Greer on the third Wednesday of the month from 2-4. I hope that you can join us.

Simpsonvillle Neighborhood Group Meeting
The August meeting will have Marcia Baker demonstrating "Pin Weaving" I hope all who attended the Mosaic Workshop will bring their project for Show and Share . Also anyone who has a Show and Share please bring to the meeting as we love to see your creations.
Greenville Neighborhood Group Meeting
The Greenville Group will be meeting the August 1 and September 5th. For the program in August, Kirstin will be showing various ways to hang a quilt.
We had 8 sewers and I want to thank my helpers that made it a success. The girls made pillowcases. snap bowls and microwave bowls. I think everyone was pleased with their projects.
Our next session will be on July 14 and they will be sewing a Jean purse. Old jeans will be provided and I hope we will have enough ASG members to make this a
success. There will only be 10 sewists. Cutting the jeans up really hurts my hands so maybe I could have some helpers come to my home to help with all the seam ripping and cutting. Please call or
email me if you can help.

A fun time was had by all at our beach retreat. Spending four days with old friends and making new ones was so wonderful. Karla, our chair, did a great job organizing it, and her bowl class was a big hit, too. We have some very talented ladies in our guild.
